OK I don’t mind that they’ve gone and stolen my Fever Pitch and made it into a ‘New’ Fever Pitch, but when they start doing this. It makes me want to strangle people.

For fucks sake, it shouldn’t be about fucking baseball, it’s about football the best game in the world. I guess I can take only so much news and press about the thing before I get angry. Because the original book is so damned good, and even the British version of it stays somewhat faithful to the book. But this, this is nothing similar. Sure they take some lines, like the “It’s only a game” rant and some other things. But the context of them isn’t right. In the novel it happens after Arsenal have lost a game that could cost them the title after they’ve led the league for the entire season. In the movie however it’s after a simple game, nothing major and then the woman utters the words and they break up.

Gah I really was half excited to see the sneak preview of the movie on Saturday [or Friday, whenever it’s happening] but after seeing this I want to throttle the Farrelly Brothers.

And I’m pretty sure almost no one who reads this will understand, unless you happen to be an Arsenal fan. But nonetheless it’s something that really irritated me after I happened to go to Match.com.
