Night of the Dogs

I went to a film festival around here last night with someone and went to see Night of the Dogs [click the link for their trailer] and man was it good. I hadn’t ever been to any sort of film festival before but I’m pretty sure next year when it comes back around I’ll go again.

It was just neat that after the film was done the lights came up and almost all the cast members [who also happened to be the writers and directors] came out and talked about the movie for a bit. As me and my date [I think it was a date at least] commented to each other, it was nice to be able to physically see the people behind the flick.

Plus who doesn’t love a story about 6 guys and their futile and often insane relationships with women? I know I do, though mostly because I feel a special bond. After-all my night started with attempting to go to the wrong movie theater about 2 towns away from where the film festival was, then getting somewhat lost, and to top the night off the valet parking attendants ended up closing shop with my keys and it took us 20 minutes of wandering around and calling some office to get them back. Next time I’m going to be sure to not do the valet parking and use the 3 frigging parking garages around the ‘mall’.

Oh yes, about Night of the Dogs. Go see if it you ever get a chance. It’s a story about 6 friends and how over the course of one night they go through almost every emotion in their many varied relationships with their either girlfriends or ex-girlfriends. It was one of those movies that’s both funny as hell, and makes you think a bit more about relationships as a whole. So here’s to hoping that the movie gets picked up by some distributor so that even more people could see it.
