Water Lessons

There’s one thing I learned this weekend. While drinking on a boat is fun, you don’t want to be drunk when you attempt to get off the boat because you could very well end up in the water. And it’s no fun going into the water when that’s not your goal. Moreso because you could end up losing a pair of nice sunglasses.

The other thing I learned [so sue me when I said I only learned one thing], when someone does fall into the water it’s not such a bright idea to dive in after them. But again that’s what happens when you try to get off a boat while drunk. You think that they’re in serious danger and that you need to rescue them right this second. That’s very far from the truth however, because if you calmed down you would realize you could get ’em out of the water without you getting wet and ruining your brand new cell [or mobile as you Europeans call it].

Sadly however I missed seeing this with my own two eyes because I was busy giving someone a ride back home. I’m glad I wasn’t there because I’m pretty sure I would’ve been laughing way too hard at something that to the drunk people, wasn’t funny. And it’s not so good to have a bunch of drunk women pissed at you because they’re libel to do something mean and nasty.

I called my dad on Sunday for Father’s day and it was interesting and nice to talk with him. Interesting because halfway through the conversation I hear him go “Oh shit, shit shit.” I dunno about you people, but it’s always funny when a parental unit randomly starts cursing. After that the tone was decidedly different, mostly because I kept laughing as I could tell his rugby team he follows was getting their asses kicked by the British Lions team. Still it was good to hear from him, and even better to see that even when you’re away things don’t necessarily change.
