A road-trip for a geeetar

Last Friday I went on a little road trip. You’re probably wondering where I went on this road trip since in the past I’ve gone on road trips to Tennessee, Southern VA, and other such fascinating places. This time sadly it wasn’t to any place as near as interesting at those.

Nay, I went on a road trip to buy me an new guitar. Specifically an acoustic/electric, much like this one. However the only place where I knew to buy guitars was at a Guitar Center, specifically the one in West Palm Beach. So I figured Friday afternoon I’d drive up since I got out of work early [thanks OT!]

I make the drive all the way north to West Palm, turn on Okechekokeokeeekekocokebe, and start to go down. Now I didn’t print out the map, nor did I take their phone number so I was just going off what I remembered. And what I remembered was that it seemed pretty close to 95, so I figured it’d be a few minutes to get there. As I drive down Okechobkkoebee I realize that I’m not spotting it, and wow, now there doesn’t seem to be anymore buildings around really.

Realizing that I probably missed it and/or I’m just lost I decided to turn around in a shopping center and go home. However in my turning around I see a sign that says “Soccer” now knowing me, I couldn’t resist.

So i drive around the strip-mall area and find the soccer store. When I get in I thought it was later than 7pm, because that’s when they apparently close. However the door was open so in I went. Now I’ve been in a few places right before they close but holy crap. All 5 or 6 guys that had been in there all started at me for half a minute before one guy asked if I needed any help. [Now keep in mind I do happen to be wearing one of my many Arsenal shirts, so it should be apparent to them I’m a footie fan] I tell him that I’m just kind of looking. At which point he starts hemming and hawing and then i realize that he’s doing it because he wants me to get the hell out of there.

Well damnit don’t try to kick my ass out, I’m a highly impulsive buyer who likes to blow money on soccer jerseys, I’m your bread and butter mister!

In fact to prove my point, I ended up buying the new Arsenal home kit

After all that, I ended up coming home with a shirt I didn’t mean to buy, and a distinct lack of guitar. But now at least I realize that the Guitar Center is way way down Okeechobee road, and I’ll keep driving until I see it next time.
