Money is evil

It’s that time of the year. The weather gets a bit cooler, more snowbirds come down from Canada, and it also means there’s another Arsenal America trip to London. Which 9 times out of 10 means it’s time for me to get going on my vacation to London to see some friends and football as well.

This year is slightly different, for once I’m worried about being able to actually afford said trip. Which makes me sad because I don’t take many days off of work, because I want to save them for both going to London and then going back home for Christmas. So now I’ll have all these days off that I’m saving up that might not get used before the end of the year.

I don’t quite know what to do and I’m starting to stress out over it. I don’t know how to describe it to most people, because I’m sure many of you would be perfectly fine living in a place with warm weather all year long. I am as well, but that’s not what really gets me excited. What gets me excited is going to see an Arsenal game along with some 60,000 other supporters and screaming my lungs off at my team. Going to football games is akin to taking drugs for me. It gives me an intense sense of europhia, I feel disconnected from the real world, and I wake up the next day with one helluva headache.

However my drug is perfectly legal, and enjoyed by many many other people. Ok so are illegal drugs, but you get the point. Plus this year I had planned on going to London with Jamie and for once I could truely share my passion with her.

I guess what I’m going to have to do is buckle down and buy my tickets, and then eat only ramen noodles and mac’n cheese for almost two months to make sure Jamie and I go.
