Community Shield and Vieira

I knew there was something else I wanted to say about this past weekend. Finally praise to jeebus the beginning of the football season is upon us. Thankfully on a bright and early Sunday morning we were treated to an Arsenal side that seemed to be clicking on all cylinders already. Sure it was against a weaker Manyoo side but we weren’t up to full strength either, so it was a pretty good judge of how our subs will play. And judging from their play Sunday, they’re going to be pretty damned good. I had heard a lot of things about Fabregas but never saw him play and while his mullet is godawful, his skills are far from it. He seemed to be everywhere on the pitch, had good control and just looked amazing. Reyes seemed to improve over the summer, and Clichy is still on the same form he was last season – damned good.

So those are things to be excited about, however the bad news is that Vieira still hasn’t made any comment and now his move to Real seems set in stone. Now if they’d only fucking announce it so we could find a replacement. What bothers me the most is that Vieira always said how much he loved the squad, and the enviornment he worked in. So then why would he disrespect both those things and delay your move to a different team until days before the season starts thus forcing your ex-team to scramble to find a replacement. It’s just uncouth, but I guess in the football world that kind of thing doesn’t matter.

Hopefully this weekend’s game against Everton will continue our streak and we’ll get a nice 3 points to start off the season.
